What is a quantity surveyor? A Quantity Surveyor is a qualified expert in construction cost management. They often have a range of skillsets ranging from cost estimate and bills of quantities preparation to cost management during construction.

Whilst the term "Quantity Surveyor" is derived from the original role which was to measure the quantities for construction projects. The role is much more diverse nowadays. They are now involved in many different sectors and roles and may be specialists in some services; for example, the preparation of tax depreciation schedules or acting as expert witnesses in legal proceedings or council da cost summary report and estimating services.
